HOUSTON, TX (APRIL 20, 2008) Kristin Bumbera and her #40 TXI-MAXIMIZER CONCRETE Chevrolet made their NASCAR Grand National Division debut in the Allstate Texas Thunder 150 in Kyle, TX as the only female driver in the race and the only driver from the Lone Star state. Bumbera, the “Texas Girl” as she has become known, was one of the most popular drivers of the night as many of the Texas fans have watched her race since she was eight years old.

Kathryne wins an ASCoT heat at Lucas

April 21, 2008 – It has been an incredible week with us at KMR. We traveled to Wheatland Mo to visit Lucas Oil Speedway which is better known as “The Diamond of Dirt Tracks.”

The night saw Kathryne starting 4th in our heat race with the 11x of Garry Lee Maier on the pole and the 29 of Travis Rilat on the outside of the front row. Kathryne moved up quickly to third and was hanging on the tail tank of the second place car lap after lap. With the track locked down I didn’t think she had a chance, at the checker flag the 11x and 29 tangled in turn four and Kathryne drove underneath both of them and raced to the finish line only to be showed the yellow instead of the checkered flag. Matter Runs Career Best, Qualifies #4 at Dallas

Nancy Matter Racing regrouped after a transmission gremlin sidelined the team from qualifying at their season opener in Houston two weeks ago. The team spent the necessary hours rebuilding everything to ensure success at their second outing for the Lucas Oil Division 4 racing event in Ennis, Texas this past weekend. Their transmission gremlin was defeated without any real significant reason why, but this IS drag racing, and sometimes there are no definitive answers to specific questions.

Tough run at Rockingham for Cassey Watson

Ginetta Junior driver Cassey Watson always knew rounds 5 & 6 were going to be tough at Rockingham, and so they proved, but ended up leaving the circuit with high hopes for the rest of the season.

Since the first test day back in February it has been obvious that Cassey’s car has been struggling for straight line speed and despite great effort the problem had proved impossible to find, so the Super Speedway section of Rockingham was always going to show the problem at it’s worst.

Becky Kirvan Makes Mint Debut in New Polo

Witham-based rally driver Becky Kirvan successfully debuted her new VW Polo rally car last weekend on the Lookout Stages, taking 40th place on the Trackrod Motor Club organised event.

The rally was held at Melbourne airfield near York and consisted of 8 stages using the old runways and perimeter roads of the venue.
