After her late model race in Roseville, CA., on Saturday evening, Mackena Bell Motorsports loaded up the race trailer early Sunday morning and headed north to Ukiah Speedway for a National Qualifiers event in the INEX 600 Legends Division.

Coming off of a 2nd place finish just a few weeks ago, Bell’s crew rolled out the #25 owned by Mackena’s late model crew chief, Dave Sciarroni to see what they could do on one of Mackena’s favorite past~time raceways.

In her first hot lap session, Bell posted a 2nd place effort and a 5th place effort of the 27 car field. Lining up to qualify, Bell rose to 4th place on the board and firmly placed herself on the pole of the Trophy Dash.

With a great start out of Turn 4, Bell got the hole shot, only to over drive-it coming into Turn 1, pushing high. As the first through third place qualifiers left Bell on the high side, Bell finished a frustrating fourth. “Turn 1 was there before I realized it,” she said. “I guess I thought I was still at the Roseville track or something…” she says with a giggle.

As a 6 was pulled as the invert number, Bell found herself lining up outside second row for the main event. Running a hard and consistent race, Bell crossed the checkered flag 3rd overall and 1st in the Pro Division. This finish earned Bell an invitation to the INEX 600 Legends Nationals which will be held at Michigan Speedway this summer. “It was a good, strong run,” said Mackena. “Both Dave and my Dad made some small changes to the car and they paid off. The motor runs strong and I had some great restarts. Overall, it was a pretty darn good weekend. Anytime I can race two nights in a row, I’m loving it!”

With no racing scheduled for May 31st, Mackena will return to Roseville, CA., on June 7th. Check back for those race details in the weeks to come. See YOU at the track!
