The 24 hours of Rouen is the most prestigious powerboat endurance race in the world. For the first time the German Yvonne Koenig will take the challenge of the race around the Ile Lacroix. Yvonne joins the French Team Neptune Inshore which started in 2008 and raced within the top 5 in the past years. For Yvonne this is the first time racing an Optimax powered F2 Boat, so this will be a new experience and Yvonne is really excited about being part of this 3 day battle in the rough conditions of river Seine.
This race is not only about being the fastest but also seeing the checkered flag after hundreds of laps, several driver changes and refueling. So a perfect prepared boat and engine are the key to be successful at this endurance race. With Team Neptune, Yvonne found an experienced team where she has the chance to be within the front-runners together with her teammates.

Pure Hobby Racing will be hosting an Offraod Extravaganza benefiting KidWorks. This organization helps at Risk Kids, Families and Communities, One Life at a time.

On Saturday, June 23, 2012 from 12p.m. – 3p.m. at 1902 W. Chestnut Ave, Santa Ana, CA, 92703, we have planned an Offroad Extravaganza for the kids who attend Kidworks (ages preschool to 18 years). We will have race vehicles on display for the kids as well as have The Fab School on site. This event is to share the love of our sport along with what goes into the sport, from building to prepping, safety and racing. We would also like to share with the kids that they can have dreams and make them a reality.

Erika Detota gets support before the championship opener New York, NY, March 28th, 2011: 2010 United States Rally Champion, Erika Detota gets official support for the coming season of racing. Adding to the Keep A Breast Foundation’s resounding message, “I Heart Boobies,” on her Subaru Impreza, there will be some new names of support.

As a grassroots competitor, it is more than fitting for a local auto repair shop, Tony’s Mufflers, in Wallington NJ, to maintain and work on Erika’s race car. Starting with new custom headers, which were “much needed,” Detota said this is just the beginning of the prep help the garage will be doing on the vehicle before the next rally. “I’m so glad to have such a skilled team at Tony’s Mufflers supporting me. They will certainly help me keep my car competitive and ready to race this season,” she said.(...)

An international all-women’s race team has come together to take on an historic — some say the most grueling — event in boating: the 24 Heure Motonautiques de Rouen. And helping this global team of champions conquer the River Seine is global boat transport champion Peters & May.

In its 48th year, the 24 Hours of Rouen has had other all-female teams competing, but this year, for the first time it is an international team, including the first North American woman to enter the fray; Canadian Tammy Wolf, who was hand-picked by team manager Albert Hericher along with her teammates Bimba Sjoholm of Sweden, Norway’s Mette Bjerknaes and Marie-Line Henricher of France.

Hundreds of racers come to France each spring from around the world to compete in three classes of “tunnel boat” or ‘Formula” racing, with the speeds and G-forces similar to any other race. However, at Rouen, pilots turn the boat to the right and they do it in the dark.(...)
