Feb-16th This was a great weekend once again! The weather cooperated with a very spring like day and the extra Vitamin D (sunshine) had everyone feeling frisky…..Stephani qualified better this week and due to the format was to start on the front row of her heat. Stephani took off and never looked back again for her 2nd heat race win of the year. With a not so great qualifying round for the evening Steph would start 10th in the field of 16 karts. A very smooth and heads up run along with a fast car prepared by none other than Jimmy Patterson yielded her a 4th place finish in the very tough open class. Stephani has improved and is looking to capture a win some day.
This weekend saw a not so good run for Dad! Greg ran 3rd in his heat and after a pin ball like main event finally ran 7th after going to the back 2 times. Greg commented about how difficult it is to run a calm race after watching his daughter race the best race she has run to date.
Some breaking news for the team! Shannon has just joined the ranks of the 500cc 2 stroke high powered QRC go kart race car. The team sold the original car for the team over the weekend, a 250 4 stroke car that Shannon never really had a chance to race. Team Yannazzo made a deal with the departing Bell racing team for their car. Shannon was quoted as she wanted the car because it looked good. After seeing if the car was all paint it was clear that wasn’t the case and purchase it at the track. On Sunday Shannon took some laps at the Pettinger ranch at a Daytona party and will look to race this summer…..
