Circle Track Stock Car — 16 February 2011

Will make debut with 2nd Chance Motorsports

Mooresville, N.C. (February 14, 2011) – Jennifer Jo Cobb will perform double duty this weekend at Daytona International Speedway (DIS). Cobb is set to compete in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) race on Friday night and the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) race on Saturday.  The NNS event will mark Cobb’s debut with 2nd Chance Motorsports, in which she’ll pilot the No. 79 Ford Mustang.

Cobb will run the entire NNS season and vie for 2011 Rookie of the Year honors.  Although the NNS season is uncharted territory for Cobb, she will have the familiarity of her NCWTS truck chief, Steve Kuykendall, calling the shots for her at 2nd Chance Motorsports.

Cobb has three previous races under her belt at DIS. She competed in the 2010 NCWTS and July NNS events, as well as the 2010 ARCA race. Her highest finish came in the ARCA race, which she finished 17th.

“I’m really excited about the 2011 season,” Cobb said. “We’ve got a great team assembled and I can’t wait to hit the track. Everyone at 2nd Chance has worked so hard to get our Ford Mustang ready for Daytona and it looks incredible. Steve (Kuykendall) prepared an awesome truck for us in last season’s race at Talladega, and I know he can do the same for me in the NASCAR Nationwide Series.

“The start of the race season is a blank slate. We have potential this year to accomplish a lot. I’m very optimistic about it. I’m especially excited to compete for Rookie of the Year. There’s no shortage of talent in the Nationwide Series and it will be an honor to race against them.”

“Daytona is the track that everyone wants to win at. You don’t ‘points race’ when you compete there. You go for the win. At some places, you don’t gamble and play conservatively, but that doesn’t apply to Daytona. You’ll take chances. You’ll roll the dice if it can get you in victory lane. That’s what I love about the track. There’s so much history and tradition, and it brings out the best in everyone.”
