January 14, 2013 Hickory, NC– RACE 101’s class of 2012 graduated this past weekend and Katelyn Kane, a modified driver from Central New York, was awarded the top honor; Premier Driver.

“I was not expecting to win this,” Kane recalls. “This is a real honor, and I hope to live up to the standards of the Premier Driver.”

In the past, the Premier Driver of RACE 101 has been given an opportunity to drive an Asphalt Late Model in the North Carolina area. However, this year Tony Blanchard and Adam Ross, instructors of RACE 101, decided to change that. Instead, Kane will now partner with RACE 101 and continue competing in central New York. RACE 101 is an acronym for Research, Analyze, Consult, and Educate, 1 On 1. The year-long program empowers its students to achieve greater success in racing. Through lessons and mentoring with instructors Tony Blanchard and Adam Ross, students are taught tools and confidence required to set and achieve their own racing goals. RACE 101 provides the knowledge, the passion, the skills, and the experience proven to work, and for Kane it translated into success. 

“I am really excited for what 2013 holds, especially now” Kane explains. She feels this opportunity coupled with her move up to the Modified Division, the premier
division in the Central New York area, can propel her and RACE 101 forward to great success.

Kane and RACE 101 will work together throughout the season focusing on her personal racing endeavors here in Central New York. More about these plans will become available shortly as Kane and RACE 101 further discuss their goals for the coming season. Of course Kane will again be making periodic trips to
Denver, NC, where RACE 101 is located, to mentor the new class of 2013 who will be announced in the coming weeks.
