Sara Locascio Captures Little T Speedway Track Championship
15 year old Sara Locascio would be the first to tell you that this season was one for the record books. The
Carmel, NY driver ended the 2010 season with 6 wins, a brand new track record and a championship. In racing
her way to the championship, Sara became the first female to claim the laurels in the highly competitive World
Formula Division at the picturesque Northeast Connecticut banked oval. Driving for F&M Motorsports, Talon
chassis, and Preferred Building Maintenance, Sara also claimed victory in the first ever road course race in QMA
and Little T Speedway history.
This season marked Sara’s 7th and last year racing quarter and half midgets and what a fitting way to end a long
and illustrious career. The season was not without drama as the race for the championship came down to the
very last race on the 22 race schedule. A win would clinch the title and in true championship fashion, Sara
charged hard to the front and held off a fierce attack from 2nd place contender Garrett Denton. Throughout her 7-year career, Sara has earned the respect of her fellow drivers as a smart, smooth and calculating driver. Sara considers past champions Corey Barry, Seb Font , Garrett Denton, as well as fellow female competitors Brianna Page, Shannon Membrino and Alessa Young as some of the best racers she has ever competed against.
Next year, Sara will be taking her skills to Jack Arute’s Stafford Speedway, competing in the competitive SK
Light Modified division. This year, Sara was also selected to compete in Ron Sutton’s Winner Circle Driver
Development Program. Sara began her quarter midget racing career 7 years ago and it didn’t take long for her to find victory lane. In addition, to racing quarter and half midgets, Sara has also trained and competed in enduro karts. This year Sara was also selected by Ron Sutton’s Winners Circle Driver Talent Search to test for one of RSWC’s race teams.
