Even months into the racing season, some riders and teams are still in flux; this was very much the case for female motocross racer Tarah Gieger. After an impressive third overall in the 2010 WMX Series, Gieger was left searching for a bike sponsor to assist in her 2011 title chase.
One phone call from TLD/Honda team manager Tyler Keefe was all it took to put Gieger’s mind at ease; Tarah will be back under the Red Bull-backed TLD/Honda tent for the upcoming season.
“I’m really stoked everything worked out for the year. I couldn’t be happier being back on the team, I feel at home here.”
The Puerto Rican native who loves to surf has been busy preparing in So Cal with the team, testing every element of the potent 2011 CRF-250R. For Tarah, this is an environment that she is well acquainted with: Gieger is entering her eighth season as a pro, and she plans on carrying her knowledge to a hopeful first championship.
“I feel really good, and stronger than ever before. I’m looking forward to the 2011 series and putting the Honda up front.”
Be sure to check out Tarah and the rest of the ladies of the WMX as they spring back into action on May 21st for round one of the series at the infamous Hangtown MX in Sacramento, California.
