Circle Track Lead Story — 06 February 2008

adams.JPG“FT. WORTH, TEXAS (January 27, 2008): Besides being pleased with her NASCAR themed cake, nothing could have made Adams more ecstatic than a win on her 21st birthday.

“It’s always the best feeling in the world to win, especially when you win by a lot. It’s great to start out my year on such a positive note. I feel really blessed with my whole situation right now. I feel like, for the first time, we really have a winning package,” Lindsey commented earlier this week.

Adams competed in the SPG Motorsports “4A CURE” Legends car this past weekend, with a win on Sunday and a 4th place finish on Saturday. Adams was not able to start the heat race Saturday due to a broken timing chain, but the car was fixed and ready for the final. Lindsey pushed her way from 14th to 4th in fifteen laps, overall a good day. With no major changes to the car Lindsey started her heat race in 7th on Sunday, finished 2nd, and started the final in 3rd.

“Lindsey hasn’t had much luck so far in the Lone Star Legends Winter Series. It seems like she has started at the back of the pack in every final! She has definitely proven herself over and over again by finishing up front. We are so proud of her and all the hard work she has put forth with SPG Motorsports,” Debbie, Lindsey’s mother, commented.

On Sunday, Lindsey took the lead on the second lap, led a restart, and led the final, with a good distance between her and second place; she took off, finishing the race leading by a straight-away.
Lindsey and her team are excited about switching over to the ovals for the rest of the winter series. With her first test on a quarter mile oval track at Texas Motor Speedway this Saturday, Lindsey feels she will be ready for the race next weekend.

Lindsey remarked, “I’m excited to finally get out there on the oval and start learning. As with every new step, it will be a learning process. I have no doubt I will catch on quickly and be competitive in no time. Legends has been a great learning tool for me, and I know I will transfer the skills I have learned here when I get into a full sized car.”
The next race for Adams and her team will be February 9th at the Lil’ Texas Motor Speedway.”
