
The Minis provided the best racing of the day as ever with a 16 car line up for Round three of the Minicross Drivers Associations Rallycross event on Bank holiday Monday held at Blyton Rallycross circuit.
Shelley Wakeling had three great heats with a win & two seconds. The final saw a brilliant front row of all top three championship contenders. Ian Thorndike on pole, Andy Lee 2nd & Shelley on the outside in 3rd. the lights went out, Shelley made a blinding start & was first through the chicane but a kafuffle behind saw a restart for the Minicross A Final.
Shelley was after another blistering start which she made & stormed in to first place hotly pursuited by Ian & championship leader Andy in 3rd. Shelley lead from the start with a last mad attempt on the final bend from Ian which he couldn’t pull off & Shelley secured her first win of the season.
Shelley is lying in third place with another seven rounds to go. Round 4 is at Pembrey in South Wales on the 8th June.
