FABIENNE LANZ AND THE BATELCO TEAM CLINCH CHAMPIONSHIP.

RD 4 DUBAI KARTDROME 24HR ENDURANCE RACE DRIVEN BY MINI

South African karting racer Fabienne Lanz was part of a 5 driver race team that took overall
victory at round 4 of the Dubai Kartdrome Endurance Championship. The 24 Hour event was
the final round of the championship; the victory also confirmed the Batelco Team as 2012
Champions for the third successive year.

The team drivers: Fabienne Lanz, Alban Varutti ( France); Ramez Azzam (UAE); Mohammed
Mattar (Bahrain) and Edward Jones (UAE) had to finish ahead of their nearest rivals, the Dubai
Falcons, to clinch the prestigious crown.

The team gained valuable experience in 2012 competing in races across the globe. The team
won the SWS 24hr kart race in France in April this year and then went onto take 3rd overall in
Charlotte, USA where Fabienne Lanz posted the fastest lap time of the race.

The final round of the championship was contested by teams from across the world with a
South African Team making its debut in the final round of the series. The Team SA Octangle
comprised of 6 young South African karters managed by well-known South African motorsport
personality Peter Lanz.

The Batelco Team started the race from pole position and led the 24 Hour race from start
to finish. Varying conditions, including rain, ensured constant challenges for all the teams
contesting the grueling event. The champions crossed the line, with great excitement, 3 laps clear
of the nearest challenger.

“What an amazing feeling!” stated Fabienne. “We won the race and the championship for the
3rd time in a row for the team, an amazing achievement! I want to thank all in the team for the
amazing year and the support they give is simply awesome!” added Fabienne.

The Batelco Team will be firm favorites when the 2013 season gets under way.
