Grimsby lady car racer Sarah Wherry managed to get two first in class wins at Cadwell Park on Saturday the 6th in her Toyota MR2 MK2 2L, it was the first time she has raced the car in the Nippon Challenge a new series set up for any Japanese cars to race in,”I was racing against Evo`s,Subaru`s,Nissan`s ,Mazda`s and Honda`s it was great racing in difficult wet conditions, “so to get the wins at my local circuit was brilliant said Sarah”.

Sarah was also racing on the Sunday in her other race car a Toyota MR2 MK1, after qualifying in 5th for the race Sarah was laying in 2nd place on the last lap when she got a rear outside wheel puncture on one of the fastest places on the circuit called Charlie’s 2 leading onto the back straight,”I turned into the apex of the corner but nothing happened, I was just a passenger waiting for the inevitable impact, I hit the tyre wall back wards at approximately 80-90 mph , that`s the ups and downs of motorsport for you! And apart from a stiff neck and bruises I am fine”, I was out again for the second race but I had body work fouling the tyre so I limped home in 6th place.

We have a lot of work to do on the car now but that can be fixed, my next rounds are at Snetterton in Norfolk on 18th and 19th October.

Thanks to my sponsors the MR2 DRIVERS Club,Rasp motorsport, Girlracer,Stanwoods engineering and Autodesigns.
