Kathryne wins an ASCoT heat at Lucas
April 22, 2008

April 21, 2008 - It has been an incredible week with us at KMR. We traveled to Wheatland Mo to visit Lucas Oil Speedway which is better known as “The Diamond of Dirt Tracks.”
The night saw Kathryne starting 4th in our heat race with the 11x of Garry Lee Maier on the pole and the 29 of Travis Rilat on the outside of the front row. Kathryne moved up quickly to third and was hanging on the tail tank of the second place car lap after lap. With the track locked down I didn’t think she had a chance, at the checker flag the 11x and 29 tangled in turn four and Kathryne drove underneath both of them and raced to the finish line only to be showed the yellow instead of the checkered flag. Minter finishes Top 10 in Houston

Houston Raceway Park’s Inaugural Gulf Coast Nationals fielded an impressive field of 35 cars on Saturday
night. In the field there were several past National Champion sprint car racers and 7 current national touring
participants as well as numerous state champions.
As the luck of the draw would have it, Kathryne started on the last row of the last heat race which contained
two previous national champions and two additional ASCS regional champions. Probably the worst starting
position possible. Kathryne battled to finish a respectable 6th place, which in turn put her in the B main. The
KMR team gave the car a quick once over and hustled to make the start of the qualifier. A tough battle in the
B main gave Kathryne a start in the Eleventh row of the A feature. In the main event we found the track to be
as fast as HRP has ever been but from the 21st starting spot the leaders seemed to have half the track
behind them before Kathryne’s row could even crack the throttle. It was one of the most thrilling races we
have ever seen and after an early red flag pit stop and an incredible set up call to change the left rear tire
from KMR’s crew chief Sean “SUUP” McClelland and, consequently restarting from the rear of the field, the
outlook appeared rather grim, however when the checkers flew to the 30 lap action packed feature Kathryne
was still on the lead lap with a top ten finish. GREAT JOB KATHRYNE AND SEAN.
The evening found Kathryne starting in the second row of the first heat race. A strong finish of forth put her
on the pole of one of the twin B mains and she was able to advance to the main event from there with a
runner up finish to 6 time national champion Garry Lee Meir. Starting the feature from the ninth row Kathryne
was able to survive a massive early wreck to bring home the Keene Heavy Equipment #13 in 11th spot.
Kathryne advance 19 spots in the two mains this weekend and the team is really excited about the race this
weekend at Cowtown Speedway in Fort Worth.
We would like to take a few seconds and welcome a new addition to the team in Bob Baker. Bob was the
director of marketing for the World of Outlaws for over a decade with Ted Johnson at the reigns. KMR is
looking forward to working with Bob and his outstanding marketing skills at securing primary corporate
sponsorships and endorsement. If you believe you know of a potential lead for Bob you may contact him by
email at bakerbob2323@yahoo.com . We would also like to welcome back Sean McClelland to the team. Sean
communicates incredibly well with Kathryne and he has been missed while he was out on the road with the
Outlaws the past month. Welcome home Sean.
Next Race is a tune up at Cowtown Speedway in preparation for the ASCoT national event at the world famous
Devils Bowl in Mesquite Texas on March 14th & 15th.
