MARIA COSTELLO WANTS YOU TO COPPAFEEL!

Road racer, Maria Costello MBE, will be supporting the CoppaFeel! breast cancer charity this season. The CoppaFeel! logo will be seen on every bike she races in 2011. The vast array of race machinery will range from her CMS Yamaha R6 used at International road races, her self-built Kawasaki Supertwin in the Irish Supertwin championship, a Ducati 848 Evo in the 848 Challenge, a Suzuki XR69 in the Post Classic Manx Grand Prix and a Dunstall Norton Lowboy in America.

By carrying the logo Maria aims to help raise awareness for the charity and of course about breast cancer.

Maria commented, ‘I have some close personal reasons for choosing this charity and although there are many cancer charities out there I wanted one which I could relate to personally and this one really is sending out a message that all women of my age should be hearing. It’s a strange coincidence that the woman who created CoppaFeel! is local to me. So although they are now based in London I feel like it’s a local charity.’

CoppaFeel! is on a mission to stamp out late detection and misdiagnosis of breast cancer by ensuring that people know the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, know what their boobs look and feel like normally, check their boobs regularly throughout their lifetime and have the confidence to seek medical referral when they detect abnormalities.

The message is simple and Maria wants to help pass it on through her vast fan-base and online-following and of course what she does best – bike racing. She is also donating a contribution from each of her 2011 calendars to CoppaFeel!. And she hopes that people will continue to buy the calendar not only for the stunning action photographs from her 2010 season but to support CoppaFeel!. You can purchase the calendar online from www.fanzpix.com

Costello adds, ‘I just want to help spread the word that getting to know your boobs could save your life one day so CoppaFeel!’

Maria’s season kicked off with a VIP ride in the Ducati 848 Challenge closely followed with a debut podium at the Cookstown 100 onboard her Supertwin ‘pizza race bike’.
