The first round of the Triumph Triple Challenge kicks off at Donington Park on the 22/23 March.
Maria Costello will be competing on her Philip Youles Triumph Daytona 675 for the first time.
“I’m really looking forward to next weekends racing, I feel as keen about my racing as when I started , many years ago! My passion has been renewed by this new bike and I’m ready for the season opener.” Smiled Costello.
Training with her strength and conditioning coach, David Sutton, has been a big part of preparing for the 2008 season and last week Maria under went some tests to see how far she had come with her fitness/strength and she put in 5 PB’s.
The Triumph Triple Challenge is a prestigious series that has not only attracted some of the most gifted young riders in the country, but also and uniquely for a series of this kind, opened the door to some exceptionally talented existing riders.
Maria will be the only female competing full time in this series, but that’s nothing new. She made history in 2005 by finishing third in the Manx Grand Prix Ultra-Lightweight race beating almost 100 men.
