The post Molly Taylor Reflects on her 2013 Season and her plans for 2014 appeared first on Female Racing News | News about Women in Motorsports.
]]>“Looking back on 2013 it has been by far the biggest roller coaster of a season that I have ever experienced. At the same time it has also been the season where I have learnt the most and feel stronger than ever moving into 2014.
There are so many people who have made 2013 possible and helped in all the steps that have led up to this point. I feel very humbled to have your support and cannot tell you how much it means to me. Although ‘living the dream’ is in no way as glamorous as it is sometimes perceived, I wouldn’t trade it for the world! It is a really special thing to live for your passion.
I am totally consumed at the moment with doing everything in my power to make our 2014 program happen and I am thoroughly enjoying getting stuck into it. We have the opportunity to return the to Junior World Rally Championship which would be an incredible program and I really believe that from my experiences this year I am ready for it. Of course it is a much bigger financial commitment but I hope we can align all the stars and make it happen.
I always remember a quote from Luis Moya – “Rallying is the University of life”. This is so true.”

]]>The post Michele Abbate, Women & Girls Lead Video appeared first on Female Racing News | News about Women in Motorsports.
]]>We received this video from our very own Michele Abbate and was asked to share it with our readers. If you don’t recall Michele is a driver based out of Las Vegas, she currently races in the MotoIQ Pacific Tuner Challenge. The video was done by Women & Girls Lead, an innovative public media campaign designed to celebrate, educate, and activate women, girls, and their allies across the globe to address the challenges of the 21st century. (Stole that description from their site) The video is very well done. We even got teary eyed at one point just because we know the struggles she (and many other ladies) out there go through to get the race track. We love the simple nature of the video as well, no crazy music over everything. We hope you guys enjoy the video as much as we did scroll down to view!

]]>The post Simona de Silvestro Indy Car 36 appeared first on Female Racing News | News about Women in Motorsports.
]]>The racing in Indy Car this season is some of the best I’ve seen in a while. With only one full time female driver in Indy Car this season I was very excited to see them do an Indy Car 36 profile on Simona. If you are unfamiliar with Indy Car 36 it is a show that follows one driver around for the 36 hours prior to and through a race. This one particularly they were with Simona through the race in Brazil on the Streets of Sao Paulo. The show really shows the personality of the drivers they are showcasing and through the trials and triumphs of their weekend. Simona really is such a great lady and such an amazing role model for everyone to look up to. Please watch this episode (22 minutes long no commericals) and get to know Simona and why she’s a great person and driver.

]]>Last night (May 1st 2013) we had an outstanding episode of Behind the Helmet. In case you missed it here it is for your viewing pleasure.
We had three amazing guests, including Jennifer Jo Cobb, Katherine Legge and Michele Abbate. These three ladies all have very different racing backgrounds and they had some amazing stories to tell. We learned a lot about them and are excited to share the video of the time we had with them. Katherine did have to leave out of the show early to get on another call. I will update this post with her answers to the questions she missed once she has returned them to me.
Who would you like to see on the show next?
Katherine’s Missed Questions:
FRN: If you could win any race in the world, what would it be?
FRN: Your perfect sponsor?

]]>The post Heidi Steele & Jessica McMillin Take on San Felipe 250 appeared first on Female Racing News | News about Women in Motorsports.
]]>Heidi Steel and Jessica McMillin just made history! For the first time in Score history two female drivers took on the Score San Felipe 250!!
“We were running 16 out of about 36 Trophy Trucks. Unfortunately, I broke a serpentine belt which cost us about an hour to repair and several trucks got by us. I also got stuck in a sand wash not realizing how heavy the truck was compared to my Class 6 truck I had been racing. ”
Ultimately, the pair finished 22nd out of 36 trophy trucks. Not bad for their first race in this truck.
“This is a bit of a transition year for me as it is far different racing a Trophy Truck. My top speed was 118 mph, in my last truck it wouldn’t go more than about 95 mph. ” said Heidi
Here’s a post race video from DirtNewz.com
