With throttleman Patrick Huybrieghts, Shelley was favourite to win the 2010 Powerboat P1 World Championship but her bid for the title was shattered at the third event of the season when their boat sank in Sardinia and they both ended up in hospital and were forced to retire from the rest of the competition.
Surely one the best examples of ‘Girl Power’ – a woman competing at the very top in a man’s world – Shelley is still looking for a world championship and no doubt will not stop until she gets it.
Shelley Jory-Leigh comments, “I am delighted to have teamed up with Sunglasses for Sport. Wearing high quality eyewear is an essential part of my kit – sports style polarised sunglasses eliminate glare on the water; keeping wind and spray out of my eyes. Good quality sunglasses also provide important protection from harmful UVR – so I wear sunglasses all year round on and off water.
“I am fortunate to have a great team of sponsors and I look forward to working with Sunglasses For Sport over the next year”.
The Sunglasses For Sport website www.sunglassesforsport.com features 15 different brands and over 400 different models – including more than 100 polarised models. Every one is UV400 rated and all prices include free UK delivery.
