It rained on Friday before the National making it pretty muddy for our first practice, but it was actually kind of fun. By the second practice the track had dried out in some spots and developed big ruts that seemed bottomless. In a few ruts I almost came to a complete stop, slamming myself against the handle bars.
Moto 1 conditions were similar to practice, just deeper ruts. I got a great start, coming around the first turn in third. (Tarah) Geiger got by me on a big table top and I tried to reel her in. I overshot the big step-up double by a good amount and kind of jarred myself, but luckily I was able to stay on and hold onto fourth place.
Moto 2 it looked like it might rain, but the storm held off. I got another good start. The track was really rutted and rough. I tried to find good lines and ride strong and smart. I finished fourth again for fourth overall. My bike is running great and I am looking forward to Round 5 at Millville. These next few weeks I will also be squeezing in a little SX practice for X Games.
