Not that it’s easy to spot them among the massive display of visual effects, but the recently released “Speed Racer” is the film debut for two beloved Latin non-actors: race car driver Milka Duno and sportscaster Andrés Cantor.

“It was a small part, but I loved it,” says the Venezuelan Duno, who lives in Miami.

“I play an extravagantly dressed Russian race driver,” she adds. “When she’s driving she’s very passionate and aggressive, which is what you need to do at the races if you want to get respect.”

A cartoon adaptation of the 1960s Japanese anime of the same name, “Speed Racer” was written and directed by the Wachowski Brothers (“Matrix,” “V For Vendetta”).

The film features Emile Hirsch, Susan Sarandon and Christina Ricci.

Although it opened last Friday and its first weekend at the box office was disappointing, critics lauded “Speed Racer” as a visually stunning feat.

“Little after meeting the Wachowski Brothers, I was filming my scenes in Berlin,” says Duno.

“I ended up admiring the work of the actors and everybody involved in cinema,” she adds. “It’s a really tough job.”

Quite a compliment, coming from the first Latina ever to race in the Indianapolis 500, and who in 2007 scored a second-place finish in the 24 Hours At Daytona — earning the highest finish ever by a female driver in the 45-year history of the race.

Argentinian TV personality Andrés Cantor has a small role doing what he always does — being a sportscaster — although a car race one, so he couldn’t use his signature “Goooooal!” yell.

“In 20 years of professional career I had only done a couple of commercials, but to be participating in a movie was really interesting and I enjoyed it a lot,” says the Telemundo veteran.

I wish they will call us to do more Hollywood movies,” he adds.
