24-Year-Old Female Racer Ready to Get Back on Track with VP Racing at Greenville

MOORESVILLE, NC (March 22, 2011) – Michelle Theriault is set to return to the driver’s seat in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East for the entire 2011 season. The 24-year-old driver will pilot the No. 45 ProGold Lubricants, Southern Woods N’ Water TV Toyota for VP Racing in 2011 and is set to make her debut in the series opener at Greenville Pickens Speedway (S.C.) on Saturday, March 26 .

Theriault is certainly no stranger to Greenville’s half-mile oval and has competed there in the K&N Pro Series East (formerly the Camping World East Series) and Whelen All-American Late Model Series. In 2007, Theriault made history at Greenville Pickens Speedway when she became the highest finishing female in the K&N Pro Series and the first female to secure a pole starting position.

“I am really excited to get the season started at Greenville Pickens Speedway,” said Theriault. “I really enjoy racing at the track and have had some success there in the past.  I can’t think of a better place to jump start our 2011 season, and I look forward to getting the season off to a strong start.”

In addition to her partnership with ProGold Lubricants for the 2011 season, Theriault will also receive support from Southern Woods N’ Water TV, a Christian-based reality show that documents some of the best hunting and fishing opportunities in North America.

“ProGold Lubricants is on board with us again for the 2011 season, and we couldn’t be happier to have their support,” said Theriault. “It’s also exciting to have the support of Southern Woods N’ Water TV as we head into our first race of the season. I am eager to return to familiar roots in the K&N Pro Series East and to continue developing my skills on the track.”

Theriault will hit the track at Greenville Pickens Speedway at 1:00 p.m. EST on Saturday for the first NASCAR K&N Pro Series East practice session of the 2011 season, followed by qualifying for theKevin Whitaker Chevrolet 150 at 6:00 p.m.  The green flag will drop for 150-lap feature event at 8:00 p.m.

Theriault at Greenville: Theriault made her K&N East Series debut at Greenville Pickens Speedway in 2007 where she started in the 21st position and drove to an eighth-place finish, becoming the highest finishing female in the series.  Theriault has also competed in the Whelen All-American Late Model at Series at Greenville where she became the first female to start a feature from the pole position.

Return to the East: 2011 marks Theriault’s return to the East Series for the first time since her rookie season in 2007.  Theriault notched three top-10 finishes (Greenville, Elko, Iowa) in just 13 starts during the 2007 season.

K&N East Series Did You Know?: The NASCAR K&N Pro Series East schedule consists of 12 events and will travel to 10 different tracks throughout the 2011 season. The series will also visit select tracks in tandem with the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series including Richmond International Speedway (VA), New Hampshire Motor Speedway and Dover International Speedway (DE). The NASCAR K&N Pro Series East will also travel to Bowman Gray Stadium (NC) for the first time since its premiere season in 1987.

Autographs: Fans will have the chance to meet Michelle Theriault and all of their favorite NASCAR K&N Pro Series East drivers on Saturday, March 29 at 7:00 p.m during an on-track autograph session.
