Danica Patrick is returning to the Nationwide Series at New Hampshire Motor Speedway for Saturday’s New England 200, her fourth career start in NASCAR competition.
Patrick made her NASCAR Nationwide Series debut at Daytona in February after finishing sixth in the ARCA race on the 2.5-mile superspeedway. Crashing the No. 7 Go Daddy Chevrolet out of the race at Daytona, Patrick went on to post finishes of 31st at California and 36th at Las Vegas.
Scheduled to drive the No. 7 in a total of 13 Nationwide events this season, Patrick will run four Nationwide races through September before joining the circuit for the final six races on the 2010 schedule.
New Hampshire Motor Speedway officials are crediting Danica Patrick with an increase in ticket sales for this weekend, saying sales are up as much as 20 percent. Television ratings are expected to be up with the petite female attracting a media frenzy everywhere she goes.
She will have her work cut out for her this weekend on the flat track in New Hampshire.
