Bentham’s Shelley Rogerson will head north next weekend when she contests round 2 of the MSA Gravel Rally championship, the Jedburgh-based Brick and Steel Border Counties Rally.
Shelley, 22, will once again partner Andrew Burton in his Peugeot Cosworth. The pairing have had a successful start to 2008 with a win on the Wyedean Forest Rally and second place on the Rallye Sunseeker which was the opening MSA Gravel Rally championship round.
“I’ve not contested the Border Counties before so it will be a new experience for me. Andrew did the event in 2005 and finished 4th so hopefully we can get a decent result and score some more points in the championship,” said Shelley.
“The rally has attracted a good quality entry and I expect it to be very close at the top of the leaderboard. I’d like to thank my sponsors Co-ordSport, Legend Fires, AMG TV, Nicky Grist, Songasport and Motorgirlsonline.com for their support.”
The event starts from Jedburgh on Saturday morning and consists of seven stages totalling 60 miles to the north and east of Kielder reservoir.
