Australian Women’s Enduro Development (AWED) owner and multiple Australian Enduro Champion, Alison Parker, appears in the April 2011 issue of Jetstar Magazine, the free monthly in-flight publication found on board all Jetstar flights.

Parker has long been the dominant woman in Australian Off Road racing with a long list of state and national championships to her name and the article reflects her profile and standing in the racing fraternity.
“It is very exciting to be able to promote the sport of Enduro to a wider audience,” commented the Yamaha-supported rider. “It is such a great opportunity to highlight that women are involved in dirt bikes and the number and support for female racing is growing.”
Following her impressive rides in the inaugural FIM Women’s Enduro World Cup (WEWC) in 2010, where she finished in the top 10 of the world’s best female riders, media interest in Alison has steadily increased.
“While I was in Italy I was interviewed for a French off road magazine and then utilised in the WEWC promotional material before the Polish rounds in June,” reflected Alison.
“The highlight was definitely participating in a celebrity tyre changing contest alongside six times World Enduro Champion, Italy’s Giovanni Sala, for Eurosport. Months later, friends and family in Australia told me they saw it on Pay-TV!”
Alison will also appear in the June issue of Challenge, a magazine available for 11-14 year old children who attend every public school in Australia.
Alison’s next National event will be the Australian Motocross Championships in Broadford, Victoria on board her Yamaha WR250F, before switching back to her more familiar bush surrounds for a host of off road races to round out the season.
Alison and the AWED riders are available for coaching in NSW, QLD and TAS. Visit www.awed.com.au for more information.
