German Powerboat Pilot Yvonne Koenig tests Formula 2

For the first time Yvonne Koenig tested a DAC F2 Boat this weekend. Very quick she got familiar with the handling of the boat and showed some great action on the test track at Borgoforte in Italy. Overall Yvonne did more than 60 laps and improved lap times and speed. At the end she reached a top speed of 114 mph on the almost half a mile long straight of the two buoy course. After the 2 days of testing Yvonne was very happy and Max Folloni who made the test possible was quite satisfied with her skills.

Yvonne Koenig said, before the test she was afraid, that she wouldn´t be able to handle the boat which is bigger and faster than the Formula 500 catamaran she used to race in the past 5 years. At the end even Yvonne herself was surprised how fast she felt comfortable and could start working on driving technique and speed.

Now Yvonne looks forward to get the chance of start in Formula 2 world championship next year. The work on that project just started. Still she is looking for sponsorship, but after her performance last weekend there is no doubt that we will see her racing in 2012.
