Woman of pressdog® Ashley Freiberg turned some laps in her new Star Mazda Series ride today at Barber Motorsorts Park.
Ashley and her team JDC MotorSports are participating in the Star Mazda Championship Spring Training event at Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama today and tomorrow. She spent much of today getting used a new type of car. Ashley’s times were consistently in the 1:25.7 range with the leaders about four seconds faster.
After her first day of testing, Ashely said: “Today well alright. Struggled a bit with the car, but I think we will have a better car tomorrow. The team and myself worked really hard to get the setup better and we made some good progress by the end of the day. I still have a few things to work on with myself too. Coming from Skip Barber, I don’t have the same experience these guys do with down roce as well as running a brand new set of slicks. Considering this track is mostly high speed, a lot of my time is in places where wings come into play. I just need to keep working away and keep getting more comfortable with the car as well as working away with the car setup too. Tomorrow is a new day!”
