Taylor Miller started racing Motocross when she was just 5-years-old. At 19, she is the only female pro motocross racer in Alabama.
Miller says she can’t put into words how good it feels to win a race or hit a jump perfectly. According to her, ”it’s like shooting a 3-point in basketball and making nothing but net, or a home run in baseball.”
This week Miller is racing in the biggest event in pro motocross, XGames in LA. Only 12 riders in the world are invited and Miller is one of them.
“To be involved in XGames, just to be invited is huge,” she says. “You have all the media out in LA and all the factory teams are there, and every sponsor you could possibly imagine is out there is looking at you, so it’s a really good race to breakthrough.”
Miller isn’t intimidated by the worldclass competitioin. She’s been racing against the same group of girls since she went pro.
Miller says on this course, it’s all about the start. “There’s really not a lot of places that you can go fast on the track to pass somebody so it just depends on your jump out of the gate and into the first corner and staying up,” Miller explains.
On the circuit, she’s known as the girl from Alabama, but a win at X and Taylor Miller will be a household name. XGames start July 29th.
