FRN News & Updates — 25 May 2010

Meet the new official FRN car in alllllll its OEM glory. A 1993 Nissan 240SX powered by a completely stock 2.4L KA24DE. But don’t let her primitive stance deter you. She’s a ferocious demon in sheep’s clothing. Well…. sorta. Never the less, the slow, yet steady, build up process has begun as you’ll see in the pictures below.

And be sure to stay tuned into the site. Subscribe to the RSS feed if you have to. We will be starting up a contest very soon to where you, the readers, can submit suggestions as to the formal name of the FRN car. Think: “Lucy”, “Debby”, etc etc.

We hate how cliche the term “JDM” has become. So we’ll refer to this as a J-Land “Bubble” Shift Knob.

When we bought the car, the drivers seat was held together by zip ties. That’s right. Zip ties. Using the opportunity, we picked up this Corbeau seat from a buddy at a very reasonable price.

Last weekend began the tear down process. The first to go was the carpet. However, that’ll probably be the only major component from the interior that will be removed, fore, this car will stay street legal for a little while. Most of the typical comforts will remain in tact.

When its all said and done, she’ll be ripping up a lot these :)
