Older image of Patrick, before the media frenzy...
Danica-mania as it is being called in the media, the phenomenon that drives most fans crazy. Danica making the decision to drive in two series, full time in Indy and part time in the NASCAR Nationwide and ARCA series’ has grouped her into several categories. Her media attention has become tiresome to most, “Who cares if she’s running 30th!?” I’ve heard many times during a Nationwide Series race..
I came across this article and it really made me want the options of my readers. Like most I have tons of respect for Danica and by any standards it’s not her fault what the media has done with her image. Read the article below from DelawareOnline.com by Mike Finney. Leave us a comment and tell us what you think. We have to agree with him on some points, does Danica need to get used to the ways of NASCAR, bumping and banging is the way of Stock Cars.. Or should she stick with Indy? Let us know below!

American drag racer Melanie Troxel had a busy Saturday at the 25th annual FIA Nitrolympx at the historic Hockenheimring, qualifying No. 1 in Pro Mod with a track-record pass and cruising to a first-round victory over Robert Joosten.
“It’s nice to know the car can go down the track and consistently run a good number,” Troxel said. “We’re excited about the handle we have on the race car, and I’m real comfortable in it. We’re ready to go for Sunday.”
Troxel blazed past Joosten in their elimination matchup with a run of 6.045 seconds at 241.14 mph, which tied the ET record she had set earlier in the day. Joosten had problems off the start and crossed the center line at half track, resulting in a disqualification. Read More

Jennifer Jo Cobb didn’t fly in a private plane or on a first-class flight to get Darlington this weekend.
Instead, the Camping World Truck Series rookie drove from her home in Missouri with a stop in Nashville, Tenn., to save on travel costs. Those are the kinds of sacrifices Cobb is making in the first year of owning her own team.
Cobb, along with some help from investors, bought the trucks from the No. 10 Circle Bar Racing team and is running the full truck schedule for the first time in her career. Prior to this season, the 36-year-old had made only four starts in the series.
“I want to be an inspiration to people of what’s possible with so little. I think that can transfer to not just racing but other things in life,” said Cobb, the only female competing full time in any of NASCAR’s top three series. Read More

Alexah Pearson made quite a jump between the end of her amateur motocross career and the professional ranks. It was the equivalent of the 40-foot uphill jump at Hangtown. Heck, throw in a large whoop section, too.
The Rocklin resident finished second, first and second in her three motos at the American Motorcyclist Association’s Nationals last week in Hurricane Mills, Tenn., to claim first place overall in the women’s 14-and-older class.
Pearson, 18, is the best amateur female rider in the country and will now battle the likes of Ashley Foilek and Jessica Patterson full-time on the women’s professional circuit that runs concurrently with the men’s. Read More

Canadian Samantha Whitfield loves to race. Her pride and joy is a 2002 Harley Davidson Ford F-150 which she has been drag racing since she was a teenager.
Samantha studied automotive services at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) which she was able to put to use on her F-150, while working as a helicopter mechanic at Langley Airport. Samantha then began to apply her drive and determination to her dream to become a model, which was realised when she lost over 80 pounds and began participating in photo shoots. This has allowed Samantha to combine her love of modelling and passion for cars, as well as enabled her to use her story to inspire others. When she’s not too busy modelling her current focus is on making her pride and joy the fastest F-150 in the world. I had the chance to talk to Samantha about her passion for racing, her F-150 and ask her about what advice she had for others chasing their dreams.
How and when did you get involved in drag racing?
As soon as I got my drivers license I was ready to race! I always loved to go fast when I was growing up. Whether it was when I was riding my horse or pedalling like crazy on my bike! I never set out to get into racing; it was just sort of something that happened. I was 17 years old with a fairly stock truck (just an airaid intake box and superchips tuner) I ran a 13.99 and although I knew that was decent for a 5,000+lb truck I wanted to go faster. The more times I went out the more competitive I got and I realized this was something I wanted to do and was very passionate about. It became something I thought about all the time and was constantly making lists of what I wanted to do to the truck to make it go faster. Read More

IRVINE, Calif., (Aug. 11, 2010) – As if GEICO AMA EnduroCross, presented by E3 Spark Plugs, isn’t tough enough – think if you showed up to race and ended up getting smoked by chick!
That’s entirely possible this weekend given Oklahoma’s Kerrie Swartz has signed up to contest the Amateur Open class at Guthrie’s (Okla.) Lazy E Arena on Saturday, Aug. 14th.
“Given the rough and rugged nature of GEICO EnduroCross we don’t usually get women competitors. In fact, it’s quite rare,” said Mike Karsting VP of Events for Source Interlink Media. “However, when we do have a woman sign up she’s usually pretty darn good.”
And such is the case of Swartz. The 33-year-old mother and professional ICU nurse picked up on the thrill of dirt bikes a little over a decade ago and has been WFO on the Oklahoma and Texas enduro scenes ever since.
“We eat, sleep and breathe dirt bikes,” said Swartz, whose son, Alex, and husband, Allan, both race as well. “We’re all seriously addicted!” Read More
